The goal of this course is to provide you with the fundamental knowledge and skills necessary to perform, under supervision, the tasks typically assigned to an entry level cabling and infrastructure technician in the residential limited energy systems industry.
- You have had little or no experience in this industry
- You are here to learn about being a qualified, professional installation technician
- This course includes classroom lab exercise labs that will introduce concepts such as blueprint reading, redline markups, (as-built documentation) project scope and work break down tasks and project completion.
- We will create cabling and equipment schedules
- This workshop will follow the domains, knowledge and skills required for the CIT Certification exam including a review session specific to this certification.

Day One - April 14th:
- Introductions
- Your Role and Industry Overview
- The Pre-wire Phase
- Cable Properties, Characteristics and applications
- Blueprint reading and mark-up lab
- Cable and equipment schedules
Day Two - April 15th:
- Electrical and Jobsite Safety
- Construction Methods
- Cabling Practices
- Lab cable pulling and tension exercise
- Cable termination, tools and techniques
- Lab, cable termination and testing, coax, RJ45, Cat6a punch down, mm fiber
- The Trim Out Phase
Day Three - April 16th :
- Cable Testing, Troubleshooting
- The Trim-out Phase and system configuration
- The final phase and wrap-up
- Retrofit Installation discussion.
